Counselling and Psychotherapy
At Riverside Counselling & Psychotherapy, we prioritize offering flexible and individualized services that cater to your unique needs and circumstances. You can choose between virtual sessions, ensuring convenience and accessibility, or in-person counselling sessions in our private and serene office space in Sarnia, ON.
A variety of modalities are used in therapy sessions in an effort to deliver a personally tailored treatment plan to each individual. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is most commonly utilized modality at Riverside given it’s evidence based rate of success treating a variety of struggles including PTSD, grief and loss, depression and more; however, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family System Model (IFS), Mindfulness Practice, and Somatic Practice are all utilized models of practice. All therapeutic interventions at Riverside operate within a trauma-informed, strength-based framework, recognizing the importance of building a comfortable and trusting relationship with her clients.

Self-Reclamation Retreat: Coming Home to Yourself
Date: Saturday, October 24, from 9:30am - 4pm
This one-day immersive retreat is designed for women in midlife who are ready to stop abandoning themselves and start living in deeper alignment with their truth. Through workshops, gentle movement, nourishing meals, and soul-deep conversations, you’ll reconnect with your authentic self and explore what it means to be rather than constantly strive to become.
This day will include teaching from certified personal trainers and nutrition coaches from The PT Body Shop, facilitation by Registered Social Worker, Lesley Allen, and therapeutic support and insight by Alysha Allen.
This isn’t about fixing yourself — it’s about honouring yourself. Together, we’ll create space for reflection, connection, and belonging as you step into this powerful season of life with courage and vitality.
The cost of this retreat can be claimed under extended health care plans offering coverage for R.S.W. / M.S.W. services.

Yoga for every body
Our six-week yoga series offers gentle, trauma-informed movement designed to support both body and mind. Whether you’re brand new to yoga or have practiced for years, these classes are accessible to all levels. Each session invites you to move at your own pace, reconnect with your body, and cultivate a sense of grounding and calm.
This isn’t about perfect poses — it’s about creating a safe, supportive space where healing, strength, and presence can grow.
